In the interview below, Kelly reflects on the experiences that have defined her time at the Couri Center, leaving an indelible mark on her professional journey.
What was your very first job ever?
My first job was working at my stepmother’s bakery! I was 15 at the time and learned so much from her! I still decorate cakes for my children and grandchildren!
How did you initially come to work for the Couri Center?
After working at OSF Labor and Delivery for 7 years, I received a call asking if I would like to interview for the Couri Center! I jumped at the opportunity, and here we are 19 years later 🙂
I have always worked in the front office checking in/out patients! I have also answered the phones, but I prefer interacting with our patients in person. I have really enjoyed getting to know many of our patients and catching up with them as the years go by!
Do you have a favorite memory of working at the Couri Center?
I have so many great memories it is impossible to name just one! Our many Christmas parties, including the bus trips to Chicago to watch Broadway shows! All of our Girls’ Trips, the dinners/drinks after work, and, of course, the birthday and anniversary celebrations! I will miss all of my co-workers so much; they are like family to me!
What are your plans for retirement?
My husband and I plan to spend several months every year in Florida living in our RV! We are also looking forward to seeing our children and grandchildren a lot more as well!
